Flowers in the snow

Somehow I stumbled onto this tutorial by Solveig Grimstad a couple of months ago. I can't tell you how I got there; it must have been fate or something. We just got a king size bed and I've been looking for a nice throw for my side of the bed.

I don't have much of a yarn stash or scraps, so I had to buy new yarn. I chose Lion Brand Cotton Ease because Seaspray (the turquoise color) matched my sheets nearly perfectly. I'm usually not crazy about cotton yarn, but Cotton Ease is nice to work with. It's half cotton and half acrylic, so it's not as splitty as 100% cotton.

Tonight I realized that I only needed 144 circles to make a throw that should fit perfectly on my side of the bed, and that's exactly how many I have done. I thought I needed 60 more. That's a pleasant surprise!
