Kool-Aid dying

I decided to try my hand at dying wool with Kool-Aid. It was really fun and non-toxic. I see much more of this in my future. I used the following links for instructions and inspiration:
And here's the result:

To dye this yarn, I divided up a skein of Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool into three hanks and soaked them in a large, rectangular casserole dish. I then gently poured Strawberry on one end, Orange in the middle, and Lemonaid on the other end. I slightly stirred to mix the colors a little.

The rectangular casserole doesn't fit in my microwave, so I gently transferred the yarn to a round casserole, starting with the Strawberry on bottom, Orange in the middle, and Lemonade on top. The colors got mixed a little more during this process, which I see as a good thing. I wanted some mottling.

I'm going to make something like this with it.
